Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith
Our Statement of Faith outlines our official theological positions. All Mission Mobilization Ethiopia staff and partners affirm these statements:
1. One True God
We believe in one God existing eternally as a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the all-powerful Creator who governs according to His will. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.
2. The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, serving as the final authority for Christian faith and life. Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.
3. The Human Condition and Salvation
We believe humanity fell into sin, resulting in separation from God. Salvation is a free gift received through repentance and faith in Christ's atoning work. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed.
4. The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and his personal return in power and glory.
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells believers, convicts the world of sin, regenerates sinners, and empowers Christians for godly living and service. From the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers to live a lifestyle pleasing to God.
6. The Church and Its Mission
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, commissioned to make disciples of all nations (the Great Commission) and to demonstrate God's love through meeting both spiritual and physical needs. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God; two main ways the Church carries this out is through its strategic purpose of leading others to Christ and equipping them for personal ministry.
7. Marriage and Sexuality
We believe that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman. All intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is immoral and therefore sin. God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders reflect God’s image and nature. All conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one’s birth gender is outside of God’s design.
8. The Future
We believe in Christ's imminent return and the bodily resurrection of the saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal punishment. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, demands constant expectancy and, as our blessed hope, motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission.
